794うぐいす平安京、京都が都になって1200年余り、
“Na Ku Yo Uguisu Hei An Kyo” = Singing Japanese Nightingale at Hei An Kyo)The title is a word game that we Japanese play to remember the historical date and era of the relocation of capital to Kyoto in the Nara Period. We replace the numbers 794 with the words “Na Ku Yo” to make it easy to remember.

I found it by chance on the way. ・・・The ruins of Sai-ji temple
考えてみれば、東寺があるんなら西寺もあるやろ・・・と思いました。
If there is a Toji (東寺＝東＝East)、
there is a Saiji(西寺＝西＝West)、It’s East West.
でもその真ん中に羅城門（羅生門）がありました。
There was RASHOMON in the middle of Toji and Saiji.
芥川先生の死体と髪の毛の描写が蘇ってきました。

羅城門を抜けると朱雀大路、その左右には西寺と東寺が
そびえていたんですね平安京。
今の京都の中心からは西に随分外れています。
There was a Suzaku Great Road through Rashomon and there were Saiji temple and Touji temple on the left and right, Heiannkyo
It is quite west from the center of Kyoto city now.
秀吉公によって随分変わったんですね、京都は・・・
