七五三の起源は室町時代と言われています。
江戸時代、武家社会を中心に関東から全国に広まったそうです。
It is said that the orijin of Shichigosan(The custom of 753) is Muromachi era.
It spread throughout Japan from the Kanto region centering on the Samrai society in the Edo era.
その当時は乳幼児の死亡率が高く、生まれて3～４年たってから人別帳や氏子台帳に登録しました。
At that time the infant’s mortality rate was high, Therefore, It seems that after 3 to 4 years after child was born, It registered in family rejister.
わが子がここまで無事に成長してくれた事への感謝と今後子供から大人へと成長していく過程での幸せと長寿を願い、神様にお祈りと感謝をするお祝いとして七五三の風習は普及し明治時代に今の形になったそうです。
The customs of Shichigosan is to thank God that the child has grown up to this year safely and pray for the happiness and longevity of that child from now on to God.
In the Meiji Era, It came in style now.
そんなありがたい着物を作り続けて９０年余りになります。
We keep making Shichigosan’s Kimono and it will be a little over 90 years.
“100年”目指してなお一層頑張って参ります。
We will continue making it for 100 years and over.
